SYNOPSIS: Alphonse, a writer who has just returned home to the U.S. Virgin Islands, has caught Malinda’s eye. Malinda is a Senator whose sketchy history has set in motion a twisted love story all its own. She is determined to help Alphonse further his career, but at what cost?

Executive Producer, Writer and Director
Ed La Borde, Jr is a native Virgin Islander. He decided to take on film production when he left the U.S. Navy in 1993. While attending the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, he established Afro-Flicks, a film production company dedicated to producing diversified images of people of the African Diaspora. With Afro- Flicks, Ed developed and produced dozens of short narrative videos, two short films: She’s Too Mean To Me and Gumbo; and Music videos “Y” and I Like, for which he won Top Music Video honors from the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame.
In 2000, he produced his debut feature film: Me and Mrs. Jones, starring Kim Fields and Brian White, which won awards for Best Feature Film from Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame; Hollywood Black Film Festival; San Francisco Black Film Festival; and Cinequest. The film also appeared at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival; Urban World; American Black Film Festival; and the Pan African Film Festival. “Me and Mrs. Jones” is currently distributed nationwide and has sold over 300,000 copies to date. This film gave Mr. La Borde a reputation for refreshing creativity and perseverance.
Shortly after his stint on the Film Festival circuit Ed wrote and directed his second feature film: Get Money starring Carl Payne.
From 2003 to 2005, Ed served as the Director of Film Promotions for the VI Department of tourism and was responsible for attracting the BET series, College Hill and The Chronicles of Benjamin Button, a Paramount Picture starring Brad Pitt and Kate Blanchette. Since then he has worked as a freelance producer for WTJX, TV2 and ISW Studios where he produced several projects and commercial campaigns, including It Takes All of Us, for the Schneider Regional Medical center, In an Instant, a short narrative for the U.S. Attorneys, music videos for local artists BV& Drastic and Barefoot Davis.
In 2009, La Borde founded Cutting Edge Entertainment, Inc. with David Edgecombe to produce feature length films, television ads and music videos. Under his leadership, Cutting Edge has garnered 14 Gold Addy awards and is currently in post-production of an epic feature length film entitled “Timeless,” produced entirely in the Virgin Islands by Virgin Islanders.
