SYNOPSIS: Darkie is a film about a young man, Chris (East Indian descent) Chris, whose relationship with his girlfriend, Britney (African descent), ended when she migrates. The film explores how Chris deals with getting over his ex-girlfriend, as her memory haunts him in his daily life.
About the Filmmaker:
SHEA BEST
Shea Best is a young filmmaker with a background in music, dance and drama with the Covenant Performing Arts Company (COPAC). He has completed his B.A double major in Film Production and Film Studies and recently concluded an MBA in leadership and Entrepreneurship. He dreams of becoming a prolific director and actor. He recently was on the leading cast of The Resort (2015) by Shadae Lamar Smith. His other skills include production sound where he worked as lead sound personnel on colleague Dominic Koo’s Botched Up and Steven Taylor’s Brush Strokes; and stunt coordination/ performing where he has worked on the Canadian-Trinidadian co-production Home Again, directed by Sudz Sutherland as a stunt double for Stephan James (Selma) and a stunt performer for other scenes. Additionally he worked on Home Again in the set dressing department. His most memorable and prolific film experience to date is his internship with American movie star, Will Smith, along with colleagues Steven Taylor and Dominic Koo, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA in January 2012.
